PM Narendra Modi pays tributes to Indira Gandhi on death anniversary

New Delhi: Indian PM Narendra Modi on Saturday remembered ex-PM Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary.

Modi tweeted: "Tributes to our former PM Smt. Indira Gandhi Ji on her death anniversary."

In 1984, Indira Gandhi was assassinated on this day by her guards.Born in Nov 19, 1917, Gandhi is considered to be one of the most successful Prime Minister o the country.

He father Jawaharlal Nehru is considered to be a pioneer figure in the political paradigm of the nation.

She served as the Prime Minister of India for three consecutive terms between 1966 to 1977 and a fourth term in 1980–1984.
