Mumbai/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two metro lines, Metro 2A and Metro 7, during his visit to Mumbai on Jan 19, according to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

CM Shinde along with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra fadnavis visited Gundavali station in Andheri area and inspected inauguration ceremony and facilities there on Thursday.

He expressed his belief that this metro will be a boon for Mumbaikars.

Shinde said that a 35 km stretch of Metro Route 7 and Metro 2 A has been completed. 33 stations will be put into public service.

By bringing this stage into public service, it provides a great facility for Mumbaikars in Andheri, Dahisar and Versova area.

"Traffic congestion on the road will be reduced... It is a great coincidence that the ground breaking ceremony of this metro was done by PM Modi himself," added Shinde.
