PM Modi to inaugurate road tunnel on Jammu-Srinagar Highway

Srinagar, Apr 2 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Kashmir on Sunday to inaugurate India's longest road tunnel on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway making it operational for traffic.

"Unprecedented public enthusiasm awaits the arrival of PM Shri @NarendraModi at #Udhampur," Union Minister Jitendra Singh tweeted in the morning.

PM Modi will also address a public rally at Battal Ballian in Udhampur district after inaugurating the tunnel.

The tunnel is supposed to save fuel worth nearly Rs. 99 crores a year.

The tunnel will also cut the travel time between Jammu and Srinagar by two hours.
