New Delhi, July 26 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid his tributes to the brave soldiers and martyrs on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas through his 'Mann Ki Baat' radio address.
This was Modi's 10th radio address.

Remembering the martyrs, Modi said: "I salute all brave soldiers who lost their lives in the Kargil war, for their sacrifice and valour, on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas."

In this radio address PM Modi also pitched for road safety.

Raising concern over the recent increase in the number of deaths due to road accident, Modi said, "We are aiming to introduce a Road Transport and Safety Bill soon."

He also said that his government will also give cashless treatments to road accident victims.

"Another important initiative of government is cashless treatment policy for victims of road accident," said Modi.

He said every minute one accident takes place and every 4 minute one person dies in road accidents.

"Besides government, every parents should teach their children on road safety norms," urged Modi.

Modi congratulated the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) over the successful launch of five UK satellites through PSLV C-28.

He also asked for suggestions on what could be his speech on August 15.

Modi also mentioned about a brother in Madhya Pradesh  who built a toilet as a 'Rakshabandhan gift' for his sister.

However, the Prime Minister did not mention anything about the implementation of the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme even as hundreds of retired defence personnel are holding protests across the country including the national capital.
