PM Modi mourns B.G. Verghese death

New Delhi, Dec 30 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday condoled the death of noted journalist B.G. Verghese in Gurgaon.

Mourning the death of the journalist, the Prime Minister tweeted: "In Shri BG Verghese, we lost an accomplished writer & an insightful thinker. May his soul rest in peace."

Verghese was 87 when his death came.

He had served as editors of leading Indian newspapers The Hindustan Times and The Indian Express.

In 1975, he received the Ramon Magsaysay award for outstanding contribution to journalism.
