PM Modi condoles Muslim cleric Maulana Kalbe Sadiq's passing away

New Delhi/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday condoled the death of eminent Islamic Scholar Maulana Kalbe Sadiq.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the PM posted, "Passing away of All India Muslim Personal Law Board's Deputy Chairman Maulana Kalbe Sadiq is saddening."

"His efforts towards communal harmony and brotherhood were noteworthy. My condolences to his family and well-wishers," he further said.

Sadiq passed away at a hospital in Lucknow on Tuesday.

The 83-year-old was suffering from prolonged illness.
