PM Modi chairs high-level meeting on Ukraine situation

New Delhi/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday chaired another high-level meeting to discuss the evacuation of the large number of Indians still stranded in Ukraine.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla were present in the meeting in which Modi was given a powerpoint presentation on the evacuation of Indian nationals, informed sources said.

The meeting took place amid growing concerns about the safety of Indian citizens in Ukraine.

Some reports said that an Indian student was shot and wounded while going towards Lviv on Ukraine's western border and had to be hospitalised.

Meanwhile, Russian National Defense Control Center head Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev has been reported as saying that 130 buses are ready to depart to Kharkov and Sumy from the Nekhoteyevka and Sudzha checkpoints in the Belgorod region to rescue the Indian students and other foreigners.
