PM Modi arrives Kabul to a warm hug by Afghanistan President
Kabul, Dec 25 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm hug from his Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani as he arrived Kabul on Friday on a daylong visit to inaugurate the country's new Parliament complex built by India reports said.
The visit is PM Modi's first to Afghanistan since taking office.
"A meeting between friends," a tweet from the Prime Minister's Office said as Modi was welcomed by President Ghani at the Presidential Palace. The two leaders discussed various issues, including on security and bilateral cooperation. They are expected to issue a joint statement after the meeting.
PM Modi, who arrived early this morning from Moscow after a two-day visit to Russia, will also meet Afghanistan's Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and former President Hamid Karzai.
