People stage protest march in Bidar against CAA, NRC

Bidar/UNI: Clamour against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizenship (NRC) got louder in Bidar city on Monday, with hundreds of people taking out a protest march against CAA and NRC.

Hundreds of activists under the banner of Bidar People 's Forum hit the street in the city, carrying the protest march from Gavan circle to Deputy Commissioner's office raising slogans against the the Centre and CAA.

Initially, the normal life remained unaffected. Later, many shops were shut and businesses closed their establishments for some time.

Police took elaborate security arrangement as precautionary measure and no untoward incident has been reported in the city so far, a police source said.
       
Meanwhile, more than 50 activists were detained in Chinicholli town in Kalaburagi district during a huge protest rally and "dharna" against the CAA which was taken out without the permission of the police, sources said.
