Passport row: Barricades outside Pawan Khera’s Hyderabad house after Himanta Biswa Sarma's warning
Hyderabad/Guwahati/IBNS: The political climate in Assam has intensified ahead of the Assembly elections, with state police searching for Congress leader Pawan Khera following his allegations against Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s wife, media reports said.
What’s the matter?
Khera, who heads the Congress’ media and publicity department, alleged that Sarma’s wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sarma, holds passports of three countries, India, the UAE and Egypt.
He also accused her of owning undisclosed luxury properties in Dubai and having links to a company in Wyoming, United States.
