Panneerselvam accuses Sasikala of forcing him to step down

Chennai, Feb 8 (IBNS): In a dramatic turn of events, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam has accused VK Sasikala of forcing the former to resign from his post, reports said.

Panneerselvam broke the news following his visit to former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's memorial at Marina Beach.

Jayalalithaa's most trusted aide, Paneerselvam is the caretaker Chief Minister of his state following the acceptance of his resignation by Tamil Nadu Governor Vidyasagar Rao.

While addressing the media, Panneerselvam said that he was being pressurised by Sasikala and her aides and is willing to stay as the Chief Minister if his party wants.

While over a 100 AIADMK members have teamed with Sasikala, Panneerselvam has gained support of veteran parliamentarian V Maitreyan.

Others too have protested the rapid rise of Sasikala, a former video store owner and close aide of Jayalalithaa.

PH Pandian, co-founder of AIADMK, has urged the government to probe Jayalalithaa's death, alleging foul play against Sasikala.
