OROP to be implemented soon : Former Army chief Gen. V K Singh

New Delhi, Aug 27 (IBNS) As the ex-servicemen continue to build pressure on the government over the issue of One Rank One Pension, former Chief of Army Staff General VK Singh on Thursday said that he has full faith in PM Modi.

Gen. Singh who is also a BJP MP said that the OROP would be implemented soon.

"The Prime Minister pledged under the national tri-colour to implement the One Man One Pension scheme for ex-servicemen and their families. I have full faith in him that OROP will come soon.

Several ex-servicemen  have been on hunger strike at Delhi's Jantar Mantar to press for OROP for them and war widows.

However, after days of agitation a breakthrough in the stalemate is likely to be achieved on Thursday, though all the demands of war veterans may not be met.

Reports said  hectic negotiations are on to solve the problem though a couple of issues still remain the sore points.
