Jammu, Dec 26 (IBNS): National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah on Friday slammed a lawmaker from Jammu and Kashmir who was triggered a controversy after he was seen in a video firing an AK 47 rifle while celebrating his victory in the recently held Assembly polls in the state.

Attacking People's Democratic Party (PDP) MLA Mohammad Ashraf Mir for his act, Abdullah tweeted: "So will J&K police register a case against the gun toting MLA or will they be too scared in case he's a minister a few days from now?"

He said: "The PDP chap let off an AK 47 to celebrate his victory over me. Thank goodness I didn't lose Beerwah!!! I wonder what they would have fired!"

The PDP leader had defeated Omar from Sonawar assembly segment.

The poll result from the recently concluded Jammu and Kashmir election saw BJP winning 25 seats, Indian National Congress winning 12 seats,  PDP winning the highest number of 28 seats and 7 seats were won by others in the 87-member assembly.
