Bhubaneswar, Aug 31 (IBNS) Hours after the detention of Odisha's Sura Baba and his two sons local villagers went on a rampage in the controversial Godman's Ashmram, vandalising property, reports said.

The villagers  barged into the self-styled Godman's  ashram and vandalised property. alleging that  Sura Baba used to sexually harass women.

They also alleged that the Ashram was constructed illegally.

Police took Sura Baba and his two sons in the wee hours of Monday on the basis of an FIR lodged by an activist.

In his complaint, the activist alleged  that the 'Nari Bahini' of Sura Baba had forcibly taken four youths to their ashram earlier in the day for protesting against the nefarious activities of the Baba. The four youths belong to SC & ST category and the police should arrest Baba and his sons for torturing and beating them, he said in his complaint.

It is also said that apart from  the 14 acres of land, which includes the ashram, the Baba has another 30 acres of farm land in Khordha district, a timber depot in Brahmeswar area, 14 trucks and many more buildings. The illegal business is run by his two sons, who drive Jaguar cars.
