Bhubaneswar/UNI: A 12-member House Committee under the Chairmanship of Odisha Assembly Speaker S N Patro was constituted today to request the centre to release the deposit of Rs 545 crore of the Shree jagannath Temple Fund in Yes Bank.

The House Committee was constituted on the direction of the Speaker after the opposition BJP and Congress members created a ruckus in the house and disrupted the proceedings demanding a house committee into the deposit of Jagannath temple fund in Yes Bank.

The house witnessed uproarious scenes when both the BJP and the Congress members disrupted the proceedings of the house demanding an inquiry into the deposit of SJTA fund in the YES Bank today.

While the BJP members stormed into the well of the house and shouted slogans in support of their demand, the Congress members were seen protesting standing on their respective seats.
The problem started right from the beginning when the house assembled today at 1030 hours to take up the question hour business.

The house could not transact any business due to the protest by the opposition members and the Speaker was forced to adjourn the house twice.

The Speaker first adjourned the house at 1032 hrs till 1130 hrs and again at 1130 hrs till 1140 hrs.

When the house reassembled after the adjournment the Speaker asked the government Chief Whip to give a proposal for the constitution of a house committee before the house adjourned for the day.

The house functioned normally after the Speaker’s ruling.

The government Chief whip as per the direction of the Speaker moved a motion requesting that the House Committee be constituted to present a memorandum to Union government and the Governor Reserve Bank relating to release of funds of Shri Lord jagannath deposited in Private bank.

The Congress and the BJP members had demanded an inquiry either by the CBI or a house committee into the deposit of the fund in the YES bank violating the norms. They also demanded action against the guilty during a debate in the house yesterday.
