Odisha: 62-year-old man detained in kidnapping a minor girl

Kendrapara/UNI: The Pattamundai police today detained a 62-year old man for his alleged involvement in kidnapping a minor girl student on last night with sexual intention.

Police said one Natabar Kamilla forcibly kidnapped a class five student while she was going to attend a religious function that organized at the locality under Pattamundai police station.

Finding the minor girl alone, the old man took her an isolated place with the intention to sexually abuse her but when the girl screamed for help, he fled from the scene.

The victim’s father later lodged complaint with Pattamundai police. The accused old man faced the wrath of the locals while he was trying to flee from his house.

The police reached his house and rescued him from the angry villagers. He was taken to police station and being interrogated.

A case against the accused has been registered by the police under Section 363 of IPC,12 POCSO Act .
