Bhopal: A nurse was allegedly tied up, gagged and gangraped by four people, including a minor, at a health cenre in Chhipchhipi village of Mahendragarh district in Chhattisgarh, media reports said citing police.

According to an NDTV report, three accused, including the minor, a 17-year-old, have been arrested while one is absconding, police said.

The nurse alleged that the accused filmed the crime and threatened her with murder if she reported the incident to the police.

On Friday around 3 pm, the perpetrators found that the nurse was working alone at the health centre, police said, adding that they then entered the place, tied her up, gagged her and took turns to rape her.

She later informed her parents and registered an FIR with the police.

The incident has sparked outrage among the public.

Local BJP leaders held protests against the Bhupesh Bhagel government, alleging that the law and order situation in the state has crumbled and women's safety in the state is in peril.

Healthcare workers have demanded that the government provide adequate security for them at work.

They have threatened to stop work if strict action is not taken against the accused.
