Not contesting 2019 General Elections: Salman Khan

| @indiablooms | Mar 21, 2019, at 05:16 pm

Mumbai, Mar 21 (IBNS): Dismissing all rumours, actor Salman Khan on Thursday said he is neither contesting the upcoming General Elections nor campaigning for any political party.

"Contrary to the rumours I am not contesting elections nor campaigning for any political party.." Khan said in a tweet.

Khan tweeted amid reports claiming the Madhya Pradesh Congress wants Khan to campaign for the party in Indore.

Prior to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Khan was seen flying kite with then Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, who is also the former Gujarat Chief Minister.

"He is a great man, I have not seen this sort of development elsewhere," the superstar had then said about Chief Minister Modi as quoted by NDTV.

The 2019 Lok Sabha elections will begin on Apr 11 and end on May 19. The election results will be declared on May 23.

Khan, one of the busiest and senior actors in the Indian film industry, will feature next in film Bharat.

The film is scheduled to release in the middle of 2019.
