NorthCap University celebrates Road Safety Week-2017

New Delhi, Jan 19 (IBNS): In order to create awareness on road safety measures, The NorthCap University, Gurugram, organized ‘Road Safety Week’ from Jan 11 to 17 as part of the National Road Safety Week.

The event was organized in association with Secretary, Regional Transport Authority (RTA), and was presided over by Chief Guest, Balbir Singh, HPS, DCP Traffic, Gurugramand  Dharmender, HCS, Secretary RTA, Gurugram.


The event was attended by RTA officials, Pro-Chancellor; Prof. Prem Vrat, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Brig. SK Sharma (Retd), Registrar; Col. Bikram Mohanty (Retd),  students, and staff members. 

Chief Guest, Balbir Singh appreciated the endeavor taken by the University.

He said, “We lose many precious lives every year in road accidents, it is need of the hour to focus on road safety measures.”

A second activity in this regard was with Shri Trilok Sen Singh, HCS, Secretary RTA, Gurugraminvited to inaugurate a Pollution Checking Centre inside the campus on 16th January 2017.

This week long event included various activities like, movie screening on road safety in University cafeteria, display of road safety awareness posters on electronic notice boards in the University, quiz competition among students for instilling awareness, display of boards throughout Gurugram.

The Road Safety Week culminated with a road safety walk through HUDA sector 23 – A, flagged by Sh. Balbir Singh, HPS, DCP Traffic, Gurugram.

The NorthCap University strives to increase awareness and initiate improvement drives to help social causes. The main objectives of road safety week was to promote road safety practices in the society, encourage all the commutersto follow the traffic rules, use helmets andseat belts while driving, maintain proper speed limit to prevent road accidents.
