No intention to hurt anyone: Preity on molestation

Mumbai, June 14 (IBNS): Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, who has filed a molestation case against her ex-beau and industrialist Ness Wadia, on Saturday issued a statement saying she has no intention to hurt anyone but wants to protect herself.

"This is a very difficult time for me and I would like to request the media to please respect my privacy regarding this matter. My intention is not to harm any one but only to protect myself," Preity said in her statement, which is available with the media.

The actress filed the complaint on Thursday night.

The police has registered a case under Section 354, 504 and 506 of the IPC.

Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria said the investigation is going on and the police will record statements of the witnesses.

"In her complaint, the actor alleged that Wadia not only outraged her modesty but also abused and threatened her," the Hindustan Times reported.

In her statement to the police, Zinta has alleged that she was molested during the IPL qualifier for the final between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium on May 30.

"She stated that during the match, while in the Garware Pavilion, Wadia came up to her, grabbed her by the hand and started using abusive words in front of other spectators," the newspaper reported.

Preity and Ness are co-owners of the IPL team-Kings XI Punjab.

They ended a five-year relationship in 2011.
