New Delhi: Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Karti Chidambaram wished his father and former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram on birthday on Monday.

P Chidambaram is presently in jail as he has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the INX Media case.

Taking to Twitter, Karti wrote an open letter to his father saying, "You are turning 74 today and no 56!!! can stop you. Although you have never been one for grand celebrations, and nowadays in the country, we seem to be making grand celebrations out of every little thing; your birthday is not the same without you with us..."

In the letter, the Congress leader detailed about the various things which are happening in the country at the present moment.

From the Chandrayaan 2 failing to reach the Moon to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) which fell to 5 per cent in the first quarter of fiscal year 2019-2020, Karti detailed everything to his father.

The CBI court on September 5 ordered a 14-day judicial custody of Chidambaram who will remain in Tihar jail till 19th of the present month.

Chidambaram was arrested last month in connection with the INX Media case.
