Baramulla/UNI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday raided a house of a retired government employee in this north Kashmir district, official sources said.

Security forces and police early this morning were deployed in strength in an area at Palhalan Pattan in Baramulla. Later, they said NIA sleuths raided the house of one Ghula Rasool Waza, a retired employee.

They said raid was going on when the reports last came in.

Sources said the raids are being conducted in connection with the arrest of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy SP) Devender Singh. Singh was arrested by police alongwith Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants in south Kashmir when he was taking them to Jammu for unknown mission.

Further details are awaited, they said.

The case was later handed over to NIA for further investigation, they said.
