In his welcome message, Ney stressed that India and Germany have strong bilateral ties which are a great foundation to build on.
The Ambassador said he is convinced that the upcoming Intergovernmental Consultations in Delhi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s visit in early October will provide another boost to the Indo-German partnership.
“Germany is an ideal partner for India – having the expertise to support some of India’s key initiatives such as ‘Make in India’, ‘Skill India’ and ‘Smart Cities’,” said Ney.
He emphasized that Germany was offering India a full-scale partnership.
From July 2012 until recently, Ambassador Martin Ney was the Legal Adviser of the German Foreign Office.
In August 2010, he had been appointed Deputy Director General, Legal Affairs.
From August 2007 till July 2010, he served as Deputy Permanent Representative of Germany to the United Nations in New York.
