Mumbai/New Delhi, Oct 19 (IBNS): The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Sharad Pawar on Sunday said it would support from outside the BJP in Maharashtra to run a government after the latter emerged as the single largest party in the western state.
NCP leader Praful Patel said: "The BJP has got highest seats and we want a stable government in the state. We have decided to support BJP from outside."

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday emerged as the single largest party as counting proceeded in the Maharashtra Assembly elections but is falling short of about 24 seats to pass the half-way mark of 144 seats.

The BJP has the choice of either forming an alliance with its estranged partner Shiv Sena, or the NCP, With NCP declaring its support on its own, BJP has now two choices.

Party leader L K Advani said a BJP-Sena alliance would good but with NCP lending support it remains to be seen with whom BJP goes.

In Maharashtra all previous alliance partners- BJP and Shiv Sena  of NDA and Congress and NCP of UPA- fought elections individually after failing to forge pre-poll tie-up.
