New Delhi, Jul 22 (IBNS) In a jolt to the opposition unity Congress-ally Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has said that it will support the GTS bill, reports said.

The bill is among those the Congress-led opposition are trying to block in Parliament.

The Trinamool Congress  and the Janata Dal-United have already pledged support to the GST bill in Parliament.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday  asserted that the government would go ahead with passage of GST despite opposition from the Congress.

Earlier, the Parliamentary panel on the GST bill submitted its report to the Rajya Sabha chairman, backing the bill that has already been passed in the Lok Sabha.

The Congress has opposed the bill  arguing that the compensation offered to state governments is inadequate.

However, the government has appealed to all parties to support the bill which is "very important.""
