Nawaz Sharif arrives India for Modi's swearing-in
"I am carrying a message of peace. Dialogue is the only solution," Sharif told reporters before leaving Lahore.
Modi on Sunday appreciated Pakistan and Sri Lanka's moves to free Indian fishermen as a goodwill measure.
Modi tweeted: "I welcome the step by Sri Lanka & Pakistan to release our fishermen. I welcome our fishermen brothers back home!"
A day ahead of Modi's oath-taking, Pakistan on Sunday released 151 Indian fishermen from its prisons to show a goodwill measure to mark the occasion.
"The government of Pakistan has released 151 Indian fishermen from Karachi and Hyserabad prisons as a goodwill gesture on the eve of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s visit to India," Geo News reported.
Gearing up for Modi's swearing-in ceremony on May 26, invitations to several heads of nations were sent out which included Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Afghan president Hamid Karzai and Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
