New Delhi/IBNS: Writing a letter to the neighboring leader, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed solidarity with Chinese President Xi Jinping at a time when the nation is working hard to deal with the outbreak of coronavirus, media reports said.

The virus has claimed over 800 lives so far in the country.

In the letter, Modi also condoled the loss of lives in the tragedy and even offered India's assistance in dealing with the coronavirus outbreak.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed appreciation for the facilitation provided by the Government of China for the evacuation of Indian citizens from the Hubei province of China," a person familiar with the developments told Mint.

India this month evacuated over 600 of its nationals from Wuhan city in China.

The city is being considered as an epicentre of the outbreak of the virus.
