New Delhi: Indian PM Narendra Modi on Monday wished the country's Parsi community on Navroz.

"We mark Navroz with a prayer that the coming year brings with it joy and outstanding health in everyone’s lives. May all aspirations be fulfilled and may there be prosperity all around. Navroz Mubarak!" he tweeted.

The Parsi New Year is observed on the first day of Farvardin, the first month of the Zoroastrian calendar.

It is also known as Navroz, which is derived from the Persian words Nav and Roz, which indicate a 'new day'.
