Narendra Modi pays tribute to Rajiv Gandhi on birth anniversary

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid tribute to his predecessor Rajiv Gandhi on the latter's birth anniversary.

"Tributes to our former PM Shri Rajiv Gandhi Ji on his birth anniversary," Modi tweeted.

Gandhi was born in 1944.

He served as the sixth Prime Minister of India from 1984 to 1989.

He was assassinated in Sriperumbudur.
