Naked body, tied legs, hotel horror: Woman escort and her agent arrested for brutal killing of CA
Kolkata/IBNS: A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the death of Chartered Accountant Adarsh Losalka, whose body was found at a Kasba hotel in Kolkata, media reports said.
Komal Saha and her male companion Dhruba Mitra, both 20, were taken into custody within 24 hours of Losalka’s body being discovered.
The 33-year-old CA was found naked with his legs tied, and police said he had suffered a head injury and died due to asphyxiation.
According to police, Komal, who claimed to work as a content writer for a dating app’s website, was actually an escort, while Dhruba acted as her agent, The Times of India reported.
The duo reportedly lived together in East Sinthee, Dum Dum.
Investigators said Komal had met Losalka through a dating app and agreed to meet him at the hotel after chatting online. During the meeting, an altercation over payment escalated, police said. Komal demanded her payment, while Dhruba reportedly told Losalka he would pay in the morning.
A senior Kolkata Police officer said as quoted by The Times of India, "This led to an altercation. The woman called Dhruba, who was in the next room. They claimed that during the altercation, Losalka fell and suffered a head injury. The two then tied his legs, smothered him to death, and fled with his phone and wallet."
Reports state Losalka had booked two hotel rooms online.
All three checked in around 8:30 pm on Friday. Losalka went to one room while Komal and Dhruba entered the other. Komal visited Losalka’s room at around 9 pm, and Dhruba joined later. The pair left the hotel at approximately 1:30 am.
Komal and Dhruba have surrendered to police and admitted to committing the crime. Investigation is ongoing.
