Mumbai Mayor travels in local train, urges people to wear masks

Mumbai/UNI: Mayor of Mumbai Kishori Pednekar on Wednesday travelled in local train to survey whether the Covid-related guidelines and precautions are followed by the commuters.

She urged the commuters to wear face masks.

The Mayor travelled in local train from Byculla to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus station and took a survey of the guidelines and precautions followed by the commuters.related to Covid-19.

She said, "After Railway services resumed, Covid-19 cases spiked not just in Mumbai but in entire state. Lockdown won't be implemented, but the situation is worrisome."

On Tuesday, Ms Pednekar had told the media persons that “there is no chance of imposing another lockdown, the spike in cases is not very high and it can be easily controlled by implementing stricter policies and penalising those who are flouting Covid-19 protocols.”
