Srinagar, Sept 4 (IBNS) Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Friday accused the Mufti Mohammad Syed government of "brazenly spying" on him.

The National Conference leader alleged that a journalist was stopped outside his residence by a CID sleuth.

Taking to Twitter, the former chief minister said, "Mufti Govt brazenly spying on me. A journalist interviewing me for a national daily just got stopped right outside my gate by CID person."

The former Chief Minister said the  female journalist was asked about her identity and the reason for her visit to the National Conference leader's residence.

He said instead of spying, the government could directly ask him about such things.

"Dear Mufti Sb if you & your apparatchiks want to know what I'm up to pick up the phone & ask me. Please don't accost people outside my gate," Omar tweeted.
