Mother, son die in road mishap on Yamuna expressway

Mathura/UNI: A mother and her son were killed while father and daughter were critically injured in a road accident on Yamuna expressway, police said here on Tuesday.

The injured were admitted to the hospital by the police, from where they were referred to Agra in view of their critical condition, on Monday night

Police here said the Delhi resident family was returning home after marrying their daughter in Agra when the accident happened.

Ramesh Chandra, a resident of Delhi Indira Vihar, was returning to Delhi after marrying his daughter Khushboo from Radisson Hotel in Agra. He was accompanied by his wife, his son and a daughter in the Swift car.

As soon as his car reached Milestone 129 of the Baldev police station, but due to high speed of the car, it collided at the culvert and overturned.

In this accident, mother Santosh and son Abhishek died on the spot, while father Ramesh and daughter Heena were seriously injured. Both have been referred to Agra for treatment.
