Imphal/UNI: Many shocking videos, including the burning of a 80-year-old woman, the parading of women without clothes, torture, and burning alive youths, have emerged in the state of late after clashes started between two ethnic groups in Churachandpur district on May 3 last.

According to Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Horrific tales of schoolchildren, including young girls, being kidnapped and murdered are also emerging. Over 6,000 FIRs were filed by various people, including a rape case.

Regarding the case of two women paraded without clothes, seven people, including one juvenile, have been arrested or apprehended, police said.

Many cases were also filed as photographs and videos of the incident were circulated freely, some of which were found edited, and the faces of juveniles were not blurred.

Oil depots also mostly opened as petroleum products started coming in. Due to the blockade in Kangpokpi district since May 3, the state is facing shortages of food, essential items, medicine, etc.

The Internet has been banned since the start of the violence, and curfews are periodically relaxed to enable people to buy essential goods.
