Modiji, stop chest thumping and everyday promises : Nitish Kumar's twit

Patna, Sep 1(IBNS) The day Prime Minister Narnedra Modi returns to Bihar to address his fourth election rally, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has launched tweet attack, asking his main political adversary not to "thump chest."

His tweet is believed to have given a fresh momentum to the war of words between the two in the run up to the state assembly polls which promises a high voltage affair.

"Modiji, stop the rhetorics, chest thumping & everyday new promises. Show moral courage,"  Kumar tweeted.

"Respect the sentiments of people of Bihar who have been troubled by your unkept promises & unsavoury comments," he said in his tweets which obviously seek to  pre-empt another scathing attack on him from the Prime Minister.

PM modi, scheduled to address a rally in  Bhagalpur on Wednesday,  is expected to counter a joint attack launched on him by Nitish Kumar and his allies RJD chief Lalu Prasad and Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

At a mega rally in Patna on Sunday, they targeted PM Modi for the Centre's decision against going ahead with the changes it had planned in the law for acquiring land for big projects.

Nitish Kumar and Sonia Gandhi alleged that the PM was forced to "bow to the people's will" and abandon an "anti-farmer law."

In Arrah last month,  the Prime Minister had caused chagrin to Nitish Kumar by questioning his "DNA" while making an attack on his political integrity. Kumar clinched it as an issue to launch a counter propaganda that Modi was insulting the people of Bihar.

PM Modi had announced a special package of  Rs. 1.25 lakh-crore for Bihar which Nitish Kumar discarded as an attempt to sell a "fairy tale" to the state's people.

As Modi's BJP has made Bihar its bull's eye for the coming assembly elections, Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (U), Lalu Prasad's Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress have forged an alliance among themselves to hold forte. Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party is also lending support to Nitish Kumar.
