MODIFEST begins in West Bengal

Kolkata, June 2 (IBNS): MODIFEST, the ‘Making of Developed India’ Fest, begins in West Bengal on Friday.

 The festival, being organized by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, has been inaugurated at six locations at a time. While the fests at the Chitralaya Mela Ground Durgapur and Burdwan Town Hall Ground were inaugurated by the Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das, the one at Naihati Rail Ground was inaugurated by Sidhartha Nath Singh, the Uttar Pradesh Health Minister.

The festival highlights various people-oriented flagship programmes of the Union Government.

It helps the common people to become aware of various beneficial schemes including Jan Dhan Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, PM Ujjala Yojana and so on.

There are 10-20 stalls on an average in each fest. Each stall has been well decorated to provide information of all sorts to the viewers.

The fest, the first of its kind in the state will be held at 12 more locations upto June 18, 2017.
