Modi to visit China, Mongolia and South Korea from May 14 to 19
This will be Modi's first trip to China since being elected last year.
In Mongolia this is the first ever visit by an Indian prime minister.
Official reports said the Prime Minister's first destination will be China where he will visit Xian, Beijing and Shanghai from May 14-16.
He will hold bilateral meetings with the country's leadership and participate in cultural and business events.
The prime minister will also attend an event organised by the Indian community in China.
Ahead of his visit, Modi on Monday made debut on Chinese social media platform 'Sina Weibo'. becoming the first Indian leader to open an account.
"Hello China! Looking forward to interacting with Chinese friends through Weibo," Modi wrote in his first post in Chinese language on the platform, which is akin to Twitter.
China and India have growing commercial links and deep historical ties, but border issues have long remained a thorn in the bilateral relationship.
Modi will next visit Mongolia, where his engagement will be on May 17.
He will then visit Republic of Korea on May 18-19.
He will hold bilateral discussions with President Park Geun-hye and meet with important business leaders in Seoul.
