Modi to inaugurate Smart City Project in Pune today

Pune, June 25 (IBNS) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch ‘Smart City’ projects, one of the flagship programmes of the NDA Government, at a special function at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune on Saturday, reports said.

The Smart City project is part of the Government's integrated urban planning and development in the country,

The Prime Minister will launch 14 projects for Pune, along with 69 for other cities. The total investment is around  Rs. 1,770 crore.

Altogether 20 selected cities would be linked through videoconferencing.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate a ‘Make Your City SMART’ contest and Smart Net Portal will also be launched.
