Modi plants sapling on World Environment Day

New Delhi, June 5 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday planted a sapling launching a campaign on the World Environment Day to encourage people to plant trees

Reports said the PM  planted a sapling at his official residence 7, Race Course Road.

The Environment Ministry will celebrate the occasion by planting saplings across the country.

Cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma,besides Maharashtra Minister for Primary, Higher and Technical and Medical Education and Culture Vinod Tawde will plant saplings in Mumbai at Joggers Park on Carter Road.

The Indian cricket team will participate in a plantation drive in Kolkata on June 6 before leaving for Bangladesh tour.
