Modi govt to fast-track border roads

New Delhi, June 12 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government will fast-track environmental reviews and sanctions for the roads along the Indo-China border, said reports on Thursday.

"We are evolving new ways of solutions to the existing problems of Environment Clearances. Evolving Policy based solutions," tweeted Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar.

"Delays in Defence projects were due to Case by Case decision making process. We ll make Policy laid deicisions. Will put Policies in place," he posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Earlier in the day, Javadekar had a meeting with Defense Secretary R.K Mathur on the issue.

Posting a photo of the meeting, he tweeted: "Had a meeting with Defence Secretary along with my sr. officers from Min of Env, forest & Climate Change."
