New Delhi, July 29 (UNI): People from all walks of life gathered at India Gate on Monday evening to express solidarity with the Unnao rape survivor and her lawyer, who are fighting for their life in a Uttar Pradesh hospital after being hit by a truck.

A large number of people at India gate joined a mobile torchlight vigil march to put their message for the rape survivor conveying that she is not alone and people of India are with her.

They carried a banner that read, 'Tum Akeli Nahi Ho" and "We stand with the Unnao rape victim".

Social activist and politcian Yogendra Yadav was also seen standing with the people.

The rape survivor, who is now 19, lost her two aunts in the accident while she and her lawyer received critical injuries. The accident took place while the family was on its way to meet the woman's uncle, who is lodged in a Rae Bareli jail in a separate case.

The mother of the rape survivor, who sustained serious injuries termed the accident as a conspiracy.

A murder case has been registered against the BJP MLA, his brother Manoj Singh Sengar along with eight others in connection with the accident.
