Militant killed as forces foil infiltration bid in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 10 (IBNS) : A suspected militant was killed in a gunfight in Gurez sector of north Kashmir's Bandipora district as security forces foiled an infiltration attempt from across the Line of Control on Saturday, media reports said.

The reports quoted defence sources as saying that  a group of militants was intercepted close to the LoC in Gurez sector during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday by the soldiers.

They said that militants opened fire leading to a  gunfight.

One suspected militants was killed in the encounter. His body was recovered later, the reports said.
