Mayawati's brother, nephew to take senior positions in BSP

Lucknow, Jun 23 (UNI): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Sunday showed trust in her family members to strengthen the party and made her brother Anand Kumar the party vice-president post and nephew Akash Anand got the party co-ordinator's post.

After the first national level meeting, following the Lok Sabha elections, the BSP chief announced her brother Anand Kumar as vice-president of party, while her nephew Akash Anand, along with another worker Ram Ji Gautam, as co-ordinators of party.

Apart from that, former Janata Dal (Secular) leader Danish Ali was appointed as Leader of BSP in the Lok Sabha. Mr Ali had joined the BSP, just before the LS polls and defeated BJP candidate Kanwar Singh Tawar.

Party sources said that BSP's performance in the Lok Sabha elections was reviewed in a meeting and preparations of by polls were discussed. BSP bagged 10 seats in the 2019 elections, up from zero in 2014.
