Maoists torch Jharkhand railway station

Ranchi, May 26 (IBNS) : Suspected Maoists have torched a railway station in Jharkhand's Bokaro district protesting the state Government's amendment to two land acts, reports said.

The incident at the Dumri Bihar railway station at about 11 30 pm on Thursday.

According to reports, the extremists  set on fire the signals and communication system of the railway station and burnt down the engine of a goods train.

CRPF and state police personnel have rushed to the spot.

Before leaving the place, the Maoists left behind hand bills in the station premises that said they were opposing the state Government's amendments to two land acts-the Chhota Nagpur Tenancy Act and the Santhal Pargana Tenancy Act  for the use of agriculture land for non-agricultural purposes
