Man jumps into lion enclosure in Kolkata's Alipore zoo, hospitalized with injuries

Kolkata/IBNS: A mentally unwell man reportedly jumped into a lion enclosure at Alipore Zoological Garden in Kolkata on Friday morning, and injured himself.

According to reports, the middle-aged man, who has been identified as Gautam Guchhait from East Medinipur's Potaspur area, in a monk's outfit was moving aimlessly inside the zoo premise since morning and at around 11 am, he suddenly jumped inside the lion's cage.

"He was rescued by zoo staffers in time and has been admitted to a nearby hospital with minor injuries," a senior official of Alipore zoo said.
