Mamata inaugurates Kolkata Book Fair, announces to make wi-fi city

Kolkata, Jan 27 (IBNS): One of the much awaited events of the year, Kolkata International Book Fair, was inaugurated at Milan Mela in Kolkata on Tuesday.
The 39th edition of the mega event in Kolkata,  which was inaugurated by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, will continue till Feb 8. 
 
This year, the theme country is Great Britain. 
 
"We welcome them heartily along with all the publishers, book sellers and book lovers to this annual festival of books. Our love of books is unparalleled. Perhaps nowhere else in the world does any book fair attract so many book lovers as it does in Kolkata, " West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said. 
 
"I am happy to share with all my brothers and sisters that 5 Bengali, 1 Urdu and 1 English book written by me have been published today. With this, the number of books authored by me goes up to 53," said he.
 
Banerjee also announced that Kolkata will soon be a fully wi-fi enabled city.
 
"I am also happy to announce that Kolkata will soon be a fully wi-fi enabled city in the country. This facility will be extended to Park Street and neighbouring areas by February, 2015 and to the next of the city in next two – three months," said she.
