Mamata benefitted most from the Saradha scam: Kunal Ghosh
Kolkata, Sept 7 (IBNS): Suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh has now accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of having benefitted the most from the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam.
"If anyone has benefited the most from the Saradha media, it was Mamata Banerjee," the Ghosh shouted out to reporters as he exited a sessions court in Kolkata on Saturday.
Ghosh on Saturday made his submission before a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Kolkata.
He appealed to the judge that he should be questioned along with Saradha Group chief Sudipto Sen and Banerjee by the CBI.
Ghosh has been remanded in the CBI custody till Sept 12.
He was interrogated for the third time by the CBI.
Meanwhile, Sudipta Sen and Debjani Mukjherjee have been remanded to the judicial custody till Sept 18.
Earlier, Trinamool Congress’ Rajya Sabha member Kunal Ghosh was arrested by the officials of the Bidhannagar Commissionerate in connection with the chitfund scam. Journalist-turn politician, Ghosh was the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Saradha’s media business.
The Saradha Group that went bust last year left lakhs of depositors in a fix.
Sen and Saradha Group director Debjani Mukherjee were arrested in April 2013 from Jammu and Kashmir. He was absconding since Saradha Group collapsed. The duo is now in jail in the ponzi scam.
Sen had claimed that he was blackmailed and used by politicians mainly from Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress.
