Mamata Banerjee congratulates new Calcutta High Court Chief Justice Justice T S Sivagnanam

Kolkata/UNI: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday expressed heartfelt congratulations and conveyed her best wishes to Justice T S Sivagnanam, who was sworn in as the Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court.

Governor C V Ananda Bose administered the oath of office to Justice T S Sivagnanam as the Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court.

Attending the swearing-in ceremony, Banerjee said, "It was an honour to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Hon'ble Shri Justice T.S. Sivagnanam as the Chief Justice of the High Court at Calcutta. "

"I express my heartfelt congratulations and convey my best wishes to him for this new beginning," she added.

Describing the Judiciary as the custodian of the Constitution, the Chief Minister opined, "The Judiciary is of utmost importance in preserving democracy, maintaining freedom of speech, and restoring peace. "

" We have the highest regard for our judiciary, and I extend my warm regards for their invaluable contributions towards upholding the Rule of Law and ensuring justice for people, " Banerjee said.
