Maharashtra: Three minor girls rescued from flesh trade in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Aug 31 (UNI) Three minor girls were reportedly rescued when the Local Crime Branch(LCB) team on Saturday raided an apartment in the Kalamba village of the Karveer tehsil and busted a prostitution racket.

Acting on a tip-off,the LCB team led by Inspector Tanaji Savant Saturday raided the Mahalaxmi Nivas Apartment in the Kalamba village,statement said,and added that three accused,including a woman Sarita Ranjeet Patil(38),were arrested.

The other two accused have been identified as Vivek Shankar Finders (28) and Vaibhav Satish Tavskar(25).


Police seized incriminating materials and cash valued at Rs 4,12,501 from the spot,the statement mentioned.


A police case has been registered against the trio accused under relevant sections of the IPC, Immoral Traffic Prevention Act along with the provisions of the child sexual abuse.
