Nanded/UNI: A 21-year-old rape accused reportedly escaped from the police custody here on Wednesday.

The absconder has been identified as Karan Ramarao Khupse, who has been booked under relevant IPC sections as well as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.

The incident, reported from Mahur tehsil, occurred when Karan tricked the cops for allowing him to relieve himself.

As there was no toilet in the police station, the unsuspecting cops took him outside and he escaped from their custody at the opportune moment.

Three teams are on the hunt of the accused, apprised police.
